Sarah Rhys
Sarah is an interdisciplinary artist living and working in rural Carmarthenshire, Wales.
She often works in collaboration such as Holobiont (with Caroline Vitzthum) which led to her project Cryptic Landscape which was shown at The National Botanic Garden of Wales 2021-2. The small assemblages were a response to the ecologies and miniature landscapes of lichen and moss.
Geomorph Is one of her current ongoing collaborative projects (with fellow artists Colin Higginson and Emily Joy) exploring interests in Landscape, archaeology, ritual and mapping. The project is evolving through a series of residencies.
Sarah was invited to contribute a chapter on her work to the recent bilingual publication HON: Artistiaid benywaidd yng Nghymru / Women Artists in Wales published by The H’mm Foundation.
Initially Sarah trained at City of Guilds of London Art School and Swansea School of Art and later received an MFA from Bath Spa University in 2004 and gained a post graduate diploma in Multi- disciplinary printmaking from The University of The West of England in 2013.
Sarah is a Spike Island Associate (Bristol).
