Iain works as a visual artist, writer and educator. He is a Visiting Research Fellow at the Universities of Dundee and Bath Spa and a Royal West of England Academician.

Since 2016 he has been working in the studio to translate his interests in memory, place and identity through deep mapping into painted constructions. He also makes performance work with the poet Erin Kavanagh and has recently collaborated with the Welsh artist Lindsey Colbourne. He continues his involvement in supporting and examining doctoral candidates. He has contributed to two books to be published by Routledge in 2020.
